2nd Attempt to Blackmail Urban Outfitters into Hiring Me

I'm starting to think UO has keys to my apartment and is secretly studying my stuff and then remaking it to sell 6 months later. Maybe I'm just paranoid or maybe my stuff is too generic at least that is what I thought until I stumbled upon the 5 star pitcher remade into measuring cups. Yup, they have definitely been sneaking into my apartment!

  1. Oh bugger - I can't tell you the last time I bought something from UO. I've always felt they haven't given credit... where credit is due. Funny though, never felt that way about Anthro or FP.

  2. yeah and i also feel a little old when i go into urbans. it is mostly teenagers and college students with their parent's credit cards. though sometimes i feel a little young (or poor) for anthro. we need something in between. they should hire me to develop that idea. as much i seem to complain, i would be thrilled to work for them!

  5. This UO copycat seems to happen to so many rad independant artists. Lame. Your stuff is one million times better.

  8. definitely weird. i wouldn't be surprised if they scour etsy for trends.

  9. Certainly suspicious! It's like they have a mini army working to copy stuff from Etsy! Anyway, this reminds me...have you read Fieldguided's posts on this very subject? Worth a read!

  10. awww you guys are the best blog friends a girl could want!!! i'm not surprised about most of the stuff since they are all trendy right now....except for the vintage pitcher. than one is a little bizarre. i had it in my store for while and posted on flickr. there is also a wool covered canteen but i didn't post that. the pitcher and canteen were both in my store last winter. i'm not pissed since only 1 of the bunch is handmade but i am annoyed when i see some designers get sold in the store and others knocked off.
