Hello again

The secret is out. I'm the featured seller on ETSY right now. I wanted to tell you all for the longest time. It is such a thrill BUT I have so many orders and messages to process I won't be able to post on here for a few days. Know that I still love you! Thanks for stopping by.

PS> Did you all notice I bent the rules a bit? I was told to send in a photo of me in my studio and I sent in a collage! I'm never good at coloring in the lines. The image is mostly from the Hell's kitchen flea market with the card file and deer from my apartment...plus a few hidden gems like the Brooklyn bridge and my most popular items.

A shout out to my new blog friends Steph of StephieMc, Melissa of umbrellastand and Susan of sdsupplies! Make sure you check out their etsy stores too! There is a link on each blog.

I Want, I Need.

Un-invited Guests

Been so busy this week I almost forgot to mention my hand printed doilies are up for voting in the April Fools Poll.

Um, errr, hate to ask but if you haven't voted already perhaps you could vote for me (blush). Thanks!

Where are they now? Plastic Trees Part 3

I got a special treat from Uglypants today. She sent me a photo of the trees she bought from me. Look at all the ETSY loot she has. I just love staring at the picture and remembering how I saw them photographed. Let's see the houses are from Ladies and Gentleman. The glass car is from me. I think I recognize the set of partridges and the boy and girls heads. OK off to make my guesses on who sold what by checking their sold items.

Special Thanks to eighty8 designs

A shout out to eighty8 designs for posting a nice little blurb about me on her fun blog LOVEYOUINTHEFALL. What a great name! She also works with vintage beauties and updates them in the coolest ways. That is her necklace up above. I wonder if the charm was once a pin. I like it all the same.

Ebay Finds - Real Feather Postcard

This item gives me so many ideas! It is a shame there is damage on the back or I would buy it. It's funny I will buy a moldy famed print of Old Faithful but I will skip over this. I'm still trying to understand myself but my instincts have gotten me this far. I have to stick to them.

New Items in the Store

I am a very lucky girl.

All my time looking for pigeon feathers has paid-off. How wonderfully amazing to be part of this new magazine. I can't wait for the next issue, sure to be as beautiful and inspiring as the first! Thank you Andrea for finding me.

Curiosities you can eat!

Spoon ME (again)

I do like alternative uses for silverware. This one is in the form of a bracelet.
The website is ah, "very un-BROOKLYNrehab" but I still like the concept.

Best things in life are free!

Last chance to visit the FREE STORE, the creation of two artists, Athena Robles and Anna Stein. It closes March 22!

Every item on display inside the small shop is absolutely free. Anyone off the street can browse through its goods, select an item, and if they think they need it, walk out with it without charge. The store operates in two different ways. First, there is the free shopping method based on a barter and exchange system. Visitors offer their “useful” possessions, like books and clothing, in exchange for items in the store. Some limited edition goods produced in-house by the artists are available for barter while supplies last. Second, the Free Store takes donations of goods and services and offers in-store “credit” in the form of what they call “World Bills”. The bills can be traded or collected and later used for future barters.

Sharing the Love

Kathi my etsy friend and constant source of inspiration has been featured on suchcoolstuff blog. I already featured her vintage store and now here is a link to her jewelry store. Perhaps a store for her photographs will come soon. OK now I'm starting rumors. I just really like her photography. See more on her blog

Welcome to my imaginary world

Today I was looking for ditsy print Gunne Sax quilted jackets as reported
by Fieldguided and found this instead:

While some people see a denim jacket......I put on my rosie glasses:

And see a tote bag:

Then I see a pillow:

and it becomes a duffle bag.

Too bad I don't have the time to make either of these. I do have some vintage quilt squares I bought a few years ago. Now where did I put those.....

I Spy (on Amy)

Amy of the B-line finds some pretty cool items and posts them in her column "I Spy" . LOL I just realized I say "love" and "lovely" all the time!!!! What can I say...I have a lot of love to give !

Here is teaser down below...
I first saw this mobile at a baby store here in Brooklyn. I'm happy to see it is for big kids too. Click here for the full post. Item number 2 *might* look familiar :)

Where are they now? Plastic Trees Part 2

Hannah Nunn was so kind to send me photos of the trees she bought. I was happy to discover she runs a lovely ETSY shop as well. Sometimes I am so busy I don't have time to check out a buyer before I send an order. It is a shame because it is the creative community that makes ETSY so great.

Time for some color!

The cutest shop on ETSY! Get some happy at from Be Happy Now.

An Ode to Horses

If you've seen my store then you know I love horses*. I bought these beauties on ETSY and they have starred in quite a few product shots. I was thrilled to see a source in my own hood of BROOKLYN though my reigns are tied from buying right now so I'll just look.

*Why horses, I can't really say. I never had them or any desire to ride them growing up. (No french braids or jodhpurs hiding in my closet.) It is more of an ironic obsession that those who know me just accept as one of those funny unexplained things and use as inspiration for gifts. Like Jane who bought me a horse head bottle opener which I love.

Smitten

Dailypoetics has a wonderful blog and amazing ephemera collection.

I found these browsing Aprile Elcich's flickr favorites after seeing them on Decor8. How lucky to see one of my fleamarket photos included in her favorites! Such a small world. I'm thrilled and giddy.

Player Piano Paper

I've fallen in love with the texture of this paper. I think that is what I like about this chair I saw on Design*sponge.

Pigeons Pigeons Everywhere!

2009's hippest bird. I'm on it and so is the Glue Society who made this huge 15 foot pigeon for the Pulse Art Fair.

See the full article (I should say full exposure!) in this issue of Creativity.

La valse Ă  mille temps

From I LOVE UNICORNS on flickr. See the entire set here.

Craft Ideas

As seen on Country Living.

Though I think the hangers would look cuter if you used one of these
(sorry shameless ETSY store plug):

Where are they now? Plastic Trees

I am constantly amazed by the talent on etsy. I'm even more pleased when I can help them in some small way. Like supplying the trees Tilly Bloom uses in her beautiful store.

Every photo is a work of art!
