Scavenger Hunt: Fall Fashion

This week is all about fashion!
As it quickly becomes Fall and fashion week has ended in New York I am left wondering what I am going to wear this season. Lots of Blackand Grey come to mind but there is so much else to look for this season.

Gold Tone Geode Necklace by Laura Lombardi – the delicate chain and statement geode somehow fit so well together.

Susan Guldager’s Black Hug Dress- Amazing hole detail and worth every penny.

Lookbook.nu is a great place to discover a new look and get inspired by street fashion. This girls’ necklace is amazing especially with her itty bitty skirt.

Future Classics’ Grey Cardigan – this season is about grey.

Beautiful custom dresses from It’s Okay my Dear – Fellow Brooklynite and Etsy Seller!

Corey Lynn Calter’s Blanket Jacket – it is starting to get breezy out there!

Unbelievable Riding Boots from Frye

Scavenger Hunt: More Fall Musings

There's nothing like that first morning when you wake up to the little signs that fall is here. Leaves change and the air turns crisp. You put on that much loved sweater. We are definitely on the verge of that in New York and I'm collecting inspiration like the leaves that will soon fall. Also stocking up on some DIY projects for when all I want to do is stay in indoors.  Here is what I have collected to share with you....

Josh Brill’s Flora Fauna Bird Edition prints – reminds me so much of Charley Harper!
Quirky Birth Announcement from Mandate Press that showcase some great letterpress and my love for the Royal Tenenbaums.
I'm almost ready to break out of the knee high boots but for now it is the perfect time for these beauties.
Soon the plants will be brought indoors. I am completely smitten with this egg cup planter DIY from design*sponge. But if making is not your thing, you can always buy them readymade from my pal Monkeysalwayslook .
Heather Smith Jones gives a DIY project on how to make Watercolors! The pictures are beautiful.
Oh my god these mushrooms from Sarah Veron are right up my alley.
This is origami – crazy?!
Unexpected jewelry from Pamela Love
Unbelievable photo shoot form Waldermar and Max – those dresses!

Rocks that knock my socks off (and maybe yours too)

I love these amazing beauties from the Swedish shop LillaJizo. I long to hold them in my hand as I often fill my pockets with natural wonders in the rare event I find nature. Oh NY I love you but I need more green.

Scavenger Hunt: Fall is here

It is raining outside and although the day seems a bit gloomy here in New York these few things are definitely cheering me up. It reminds me that it is going to start getting dark earlier and the holidays are right around the corner.

Bedbugs in Brooklyn

Another modern souvenir in curio style packaging. This time I've collected Cimex Lectularis (also know as bedbugs). Actually it is not real. Come on! I'll pick up a pigeon feather YES but a bedbug NO but the pressed brass bug *is* really lovely and comes with an old type writter typed label on a vintage specimen label.  COMING SOON to BROOKLYNrehab.etsy and A&G Merch. For now only on flickr .

Welcome to BROOKLYN. Don't let the bed bug bite!

Happy Little Accidents

Sometimes I look at my favorites and think "wow I accidently created a perfectly good treasury" and then I remember all the wasted hours sitting poised ready to pounce on the little magic box that is rumored to appear and open. I have NEVER seen it. I just can't win one. SO if you ever think me rude to not return the favor of a lovely hard earned treasury, please know I have tried and tried and tried. The best I can do is post this screen shot and link to my favorites . Now you know I love you too.

Two Headed Lava Worm Delight

I really LIKE Michael Lidberg's work but it is the titles and description that make me LOVE it.

Every year the ancient moa travel to the Upper Realm to enjoy the delicacy of two-headed lava worms. One day in spring, the two headed lava worms rise to the surface to mate. The moa take advantage of this opportunity gladly and gain their rich golden color from a unique protein found in the worms. After eating their fill, moa quickly descend back to the Middle Realm where it is much cooler.

2nd Attempt to Blackmail Urban Outfitters into Hiring Me

I'm starting to think UO has keys to my apartment and is secretly studying my stuff and then remaking it to sell 6 months later. Maybe I'm just paranoid or maybe my stuff is too generic at least that is what I thought until I stumbled upon the 5 star pitcher remade into measuring cups. Yup, they have definitely been sneaking into my apartment!

Aqua - Velvet

When Amy at Aqua Velvet posted about me on her blog, I wanted to find a way to thank her. Then I stumbled upon her Supermarket store and knew exactly what to do. Post these fun whimsical prints of New York and her Coney Island series. Her Route 66 series is equally as cool with both photos and original illustrations . You must check her out!

This is how my mind works
